The Entrance to the British Museum

The museum as seen from the entrance in Great Russell Street. The museum was built between 1823-47 to designs by the brothers Robert and Sydney Smirke (qv http://www.visitcumbria.com/robsmirk.htm ), this porticoed south front being the work of Robert.
